1.  What is a Registered Dietitian (RD)?

A Registered Dietitian completed a minimum of a bachelor's degree at a US regionally accredited university or college and course work approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of The American Dietetic Association (ADA) with approved coursework including food and nutrition sciences, foodservice systems management, culinary arts, psychology, biochemistry, physiology, microbiology, anatomy, and chemistry.

Passed a national examination administered by the
Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

Completes continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration.

2.   Do you file with health insurance for reimbursement?

No, we DO NOT file with health insurance companies.  What we do instead is give you what we call a "superbill" or receipt of services.  Clients have their primary care physician provide a supporting diagnosis for nutritional consulting necessity and then submit the diagnosis, along with a receipt from ATX Nutrition, for your own reimbursement for nutrition services.

3.   Do you accept credit card payments?

ATX Nutrition prefers cash or checks (with driver's license information obtained on the initial consult).   Credit card payments are only accepted through PayPal (TM) services and must be submitted prior to your scheduled appointment time.  To use Paypal you do not need a Paypal account, only a credit card and working email address.

4.   Do I need to bring any medical documents for my appointment?

You are NOT required to provide any medical documents to receive consulting services. However, copies of lab work (blood draws) are very helpful in assessing your nutritional status.  Also, a complete medical history will be collected that the time of your initial appointment.
